Meet The Owner & Contractor

Hi, I’m Matthew Watson, the founder of Watson Homes and a proud 7th-generation Floridian. Florida isn’t just where I build—it’s a part of who I am. That’s why my mission is to create homes and spaces that are true to my customers while celebrating the qualities that make our state so special.

For me, building has always been more than a career—it’s a calling. From learning the trade at a young age to becoming a licensed residential contractor, I’ve poured my heart and soul into making sure Watson Homes is always learning, growing, and applying the best building practices and technology. My goal is to craft homes that are not only beautiful, lasting, and high-quality, but also uniquely tailored to each customer’s needs.

But Watson Homes isn’t just about construction—it’s about connection.

I take the time to understand what “home” means to you and build in a way that reflects your vision and values. I personally walk every jobsite, check every detail, and collaborate closely with my fellow craftsmen to ensure we’re building something both you and our team can be proud of.

At the end of the day, I’m not just here to build houses—I’m here to make dreams come to life. I want to create spaces where you can celebrate life’s moments, welcome loved ones, and enjoy the beauty of Florida the way my family has for generations.

Watson Homes proudly serves families throughout Manatee County, Sarasota County, Pinellas County, and Hillsborough County, Florida.

The woman has long dark hair and wears a white dress, while the man has a beard, wears a white cap, t-shirt, and black shorts. The woman holds a leash attached to a tan-colored dog with a bandana, and the man has a brown dog with a pink bandana sitting next to him. A wooden fence and green trees are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

More important to me than business or material things is family. My wife, Angelique, and I have always worked together to build a life that’s fulfilling and true to our values. We cherish quality time with loved ones, adventures both near and far, and giving back whenever we can. At our core, we are a family-owned company that strives to carry those same values into our business. We are grateful for every client and hope to create lasting, meaningful relationships through the work we do.
